What Once Was
What Once Was
His hands,
That once lay hold of my hip,
Are now giving her belly a few strokes.
His lips
That once kissed my cheeks,
Are now smooching on her face.
His fingers,
That once tickled me,
Are now caressing her bare waist.
His arms,
That once glued me to his body,
Are now holding her weight as he lifts her.
His mouth,
That once said "I love you" to me,
Now promises her a forever love.
His face,
That he buried in my neck,
Now nuzzles her face.
His heart,
Which was once mine,
Is now all hers.
His mind,
That was once filled with my memories,
Is now rejoicing in my demise.
