What Is Love?

What Is Love?

To the swaying cradles,

Skipping ropes and dusty saddles;

To the cracks and scissors underneath feet,

Elated ages that alien fleet;

Is it worth falling out in rains?

Gravity giggles around in chains,

Where is that portal, that spooky door?

Flesh & bones, or is it evermore!

That ocean ashore is sinking in sorrow,

Ashes and ashes, yesterday & tomorrow!

A loop of fabric as her stitched veil,

My sweetheart we've already set into sail;

Dusk is unto you as unto me,

That fragile heart is a play, you see!

To the paths that never cohered,

What worth are feet that never volunteered,

A tale of sweetheart,

Love is that doesn't impart;

Chills and aberrations round backbone,

Or is it worthless mutated hormone?
