In the glow of a screen, their stories entwined,

Two friends, lost in messages, hearts unconfined.

She typed every morning, a laugh and a smile,

Each text a sweet promise, a bond worth the while.

Through pixels and emojis, they shared every thought,

Her heart danced with joy, each word that he brought.

But as days turned to weeks, she felt something more,

A flicker of hope, a love at the core.

“Good morning!” she typed, with a heart and a sun,

“Let’s meet for coffee, just us, it’ll be fun!”

She longed for connection, a glance and a touch,

In the warmth of his laughter, she wanted so much.

But his words came like shadows, a chill in the air,

“Ok, jokes apart, I feel really uncomfortable there.”

Her heart sank like anchors, heavy and cold,

In the silence that followed, a story untold.

She sat in her room, staring deep at the screen,

A flurry of feelings, what could it mean?

“Couple-like things,” he said, with a tone that was clear,

Yet she felt in her chest a profound sense of fear.

Was it just friendship, a line drawn in sand?

Or a spark that was waiting, but slipped from her hand?

With tears in her eyes, she wrestled with pain,

The laughter they shared now felt heavy like rain.

Each message a dagger, each word a cruel sting,

What once felt like joy, now a sorrowful ring.

She typed out her heart, poured her soul into words,

But fear turned her voice into silence, unheard.

What if you could see, beyond just the friend?

The love that is blooming, the joy that won’t end?”

But the screen stared back empty, a void in the night,

With each tick of the clock, she faded from sight.

In the silence that lingered, she mourned what could be,

A friendship now fractured, a love lost at sea.

Her heart, once so hopeful, now shattered like glass,

Caught in the echo of moments that passed.

He didn’t reply, and she felt the weight grow,

A distance between them, a chasm of woe.

Each WhatsApp notification, a ghost of the past,

A reminder that feelings, like shadows, can’t last.

In her heart, she held on, to dreams that now slipped,

To a future once vibrant, now faintly eclipsed.

She wished he could see, the love she had tried,

But now all that was left was a tearful goodbye.

So she typed one last message, a whisper of fate,

“Thank you for the laughter, for being so great.

I’ll cherish our moments, though it’s hard to let go,

But I’ll carry this heartache, with nowhere to show.”

And in that small message, she found some release,

A flicker of hope, a moment of peace.

For love can be fleeting, like stars in the night,

But friendships can linger, through darkness to light.
