It Ended with us

It Ended with us

It started with laughter, with whispers at night,

With promises held under soft moonlight.

We painted a future on clouds that would glide,

Believing forever was ours to decide.

But seasons changed, as seasons do,

And hearts grew distant, though neither knew.

Words became brittle, silences grew,

The cracks in our love slowly breaking through.

We held on tight, afraid to let go,

Clutching the past like a fading echo.

But love, when strained, can falter and rust—

And so it unraveled; it ended with us.

No villains to blame, no grand goodbye,

Just two hearts learning that love can die.

In endings, perhaps, there lies a grace—

A lesson in knowing when to leave space.

For some stories finish before they begin,

And not all wars are meant to be won within.

So we set each other free, without a fuss—

And that’s how it happened:

It ended with us.
