Tulips And You
Tulips And You
Choked with the valiance, you smiled
Torn body in the red dress of sacrifice
Beams of your crystal soul came flickering through the surface
because just like roses, you arrived.
I was contented because you were home just like every time
But a piece of me knew, you'll go again since you're so devoid of fear in your eyes
I asked for you to be a savior of my heart too
But just like a bird, you flew back to the south, leaving me in your past life.
Then they handed me a folded up letter
Tied with a phantom ribbon, that was the last day ever
Because the last time I had truly lived was with you
And our last memory comes with the congregation, your casket, lilac tulips and you
You still come gusting with the wind sometimes,
Skimming across my hair, touching my shallow heart up to my half-filled eyes
I am certain you will mend this broken as I was someone you loved
And you know, nothing would take away this pride.
