Truly Happy
Truly Happy
Heroic.
That single word was reeling all around.
The wife tried to smile,
But she couldn't
Nor could she meet anyone's sympathetic gaze
She felt hopeless when she should have felt proud
Martyred.
They said.
The father was talking to the people around
His face contorting now and then
An odd shade cast upon
Saviour. Valour. Honour.
The guards gave high salutes
Their chests straight with respect
The mother was trying to smile
Even though it didn't come
All she could but reminisce the past
<
em>Bravery.
The sister heard.
She felt angry all of a sudden
But she could not tell why
Her lips quivered slightly
Sacrifice
The tiny daughter looked confused
What was going on?
Where was father?
She asked her mother where he was
"He went to the Almighty."
"For this country, your father will be a hero."
Even though she did not understand
She smiled and said,
"I want to be like him."
And she was the one truly happy to listen to people praising about her father.
May his sould rest in peace.
Amen.
