TRIBUTE TO THE SUN

Oh! The mighty splendid Sun!

An intense spot of light 

high up in the sky 

brilliant with myriad rays 

which pierce the innermost 

unknown points on Earth;

You are like a second God 

with your divine qualities -

You are omnipresent ...

for nothing is hidden from you;

You are omniscient ...

for you see and know everything;

You are omnipotent ...

for you instil new power

into lifeless limbs. 

And furthermore, like God,

you give solace and comfort 

to the distressed millions 

on this muddled planet ...

for, tho' they may not realize it, 

Human beings always respond 

instinctively to the sight of you:

For, as you herald in each 

new day with your presence 

They always experience 

a revival of Hope!
