Thoughts of a Mother

Thoughts of a Mother

When I first held you in my hands,

You were a bundle of joy, the apple of my eye.

Your first glance --- your tiny eyes, your lovely lips, your little hands and feet,

Your smooth body made me forget all the suffering and strain I underwent.

Your formative months --- I watched you with awe and admiration,

As you grew up, month after month.

Your first step --- I was elated when you took your first step,

And my heart missed a beat, when you fell the next moment.

Your first word --- I was on cloud nine, when you uttered your first word "Maa"

The joy of being a mother is immeasurable thought I..............

Your first day at school --- you cried, because you didn't want to leave me and held on to the pallu of my saree, not letting me go.........

Then, I comforted you that I would come soon to take you home.

Your first report card --- I jumped with joy when you fared well and

Prayed that you should reach the topmost rung of the ladder of success.

Days, months and years flew past...........you had to leave me to further your studies.

I cried..........then, you consoled me that you would come home soon.

Now, you are grown up and busy. Talk, even with me, not only to your friends, when you get bored.

Find time to spend even with me, not only with your mobile and internet.

Hug me when you are in trouble, remember, I am always there for you.

I care for you more than anyone else..............

Don't cry if I die, cause I'll always be with you...........

But miss me, like I miss you now, till I am alive.........

Out of all the relationships we make in our journey of life till our last breath, the relation with our "MOTHER" is nine months more.
