When Death is far away

Iridescence in life blinds you

When Death is nowhere seen

Light and happiness bore you


When Death comes near

You see the end of all

When Death inspires fear

You feel the smoky haze clear


And then comes the moment

When you are past Death too

And the glory of what's new

Is a light to mild to mellow
