The Wake Up Call

The Wake Up Call

The nightmares have turned real.

The monsters are on the loose.

The screams that were muffled,

Spasmodic sobs they now induce.

The candles are burning out,

The shadows are encroaching,

The world is deep asleep

While our conscience is reproaching.

The children speak delirium,

The women shiver and squirm,

As the ghouls haunt them

Slowly driving them infirm.

We toss and turn, in our sleep

As the stench of corpses pile,

Fruits of lotus fed each time

To suppress anguish using guile.

Our wake up call, sounds distant

We continue to sleep in peace,

The world advances towards its ruins

As our humanity begins to cease.

Her flesh young and smooth,

The nails were dug deep,

The nightmares have come true,

As we continue to sleep.
