The Unknown Tree
The Unknown Tree
Mused 'bout the tree,
That grew along with me,
The same day my lung took its first breath,
The same day the seed sprouted on its own.
Where around the world do you fill out?
Where around the earth do you make shadows?
Have your branches spread out?
Have your flowers bloomed?
Is it the home for the bird family?
Is it the home for someone's love?
Does it have thick barks?
Does it shed its leaves in the fall?
Or has it been stomped over the same day?
The day its plumule peeked over;
Or has it been sawn down someday?
The day before it was to fruit.
