The Sweet Hum Of The Humming Bird

The Sweet Hum Of The Humming Bird

I couldn’t hear my body, staying in the dark, diminutive dorm,

Drained by portraying a book worm,

But the sweet hum of the hummingbird,

Stopped me from reading, everything my eyes saw was blurred.

I couldn’t notice my eighteen-year-old eyes in a swollen, smudgy state,

Strained by watching movies of destiny and fate,

But the sweet hum of the hummingbird,

Made me close my eyes for a movement after I heard.

Time passed to my adult age in a blink of an eye,

My hands are now bound to the keyboard with an imaginary tie,

But the sweet hum of the hummingbird,

Made my hands numb, stopped me from typing another word.

Married to my fate, living in a family of four,

Was exhausted by doing every household chore,

But the sweet hum of the hummingbird,

Drew back my lips, with its voice as sweet as curd.

My hair started to turn white,

And I got addicted to knitting sweaters, coloured bright,

But the sweet hum of the hummingbird,

Attracted me to it by the magic spell it murmured.

Distinguished appearances, still made me see the beauty of nature till my hairs turned grey,

I hope the same in reality, though thank you isn’t enough word to say,

Instead, I’d like to give my whole fourteen-year-old heart to save you,

And make everyone notice your sweetness in the future too.
