The Student
The Student
Confessions of the student in me,
Brought forth amiss observations.
Of losing out on learning,
And such other assumptions.
The goals and outcomes of learning,
For a reason, shifted with every try.
Learning helped me understand.
But, it didn’t help me know why!
One way, I lost the art of appreciating,
Downplayed the world with my euphemism.
In another, I learnt how to extol, and
Exaggerate acts upon acts with Euhemerism.
What I was taught made me
A learner. A student for life.
What lay outside, in the world, but
Made me explore; be a student of life.
The big difference, let me tell you, is
That the school preaches and so teaches.
And, that is quite a reversed stance,
The world, without preaching ever, just teaches!
