The Shadow

The shadows are always there to follow,

As I journey through life's empty hollow.

They mimic my steps, and take my form,

Their nature's distinct, like a brewing storm.

In the darkness, they grow bolder,

As if fed by my fear, they smolder.

Their whispers echo through the night,

Haunting me with their eerie might.

Their tendrils reach out and grasp,

Clutching at my heels with an icy clasp.

I struggle to break free from their hold,

But they never let me go, so fierce and cold.
