The Saree Clad Woman - An Ode To The Feminine Energies That Has Shaped Me

The Saree Clad Woman - An Ode To The Feminine Energies That Has Shaped Me

I want to be that sari-clad woman whose stern countenance reflects astuteness, whose gait is so elegant that obliges the beholder to hold her in high esteem.

She has an unpliable temperament who has carved out a niche for herself in an otherwise male-dominated world. She exudes confidence and happens to come up with pathbreaking notions in the most intimidating of circumstances.

She is a steel hearted entity that is instrumental in driving an institution to its highest echelons. She leads men and her adroitness is unparalleled. In deep contemplation, she etches the policies and decides the agenda to be undertaken by the organization she leads.

She is a woman of great perspicacity who speaks with flamboyance and is a great orator that mesmerizes the one beholding her. Her sheer presence in the room throws off a vibe of magnanimity.

She has an aura that commands respect, an intellect that is pragmatic, a mind that is unwavering. She will never let her dignified self waver. She speaks with reason and reason is the core of her existence.

That eight yards of matte brown silk attire that she drapes around her, neatly folded into pleats, speaks of the formidable role an educated Indian woman can play in all walks of life be it politics, business, education, or motherhood.

A motherly instinct, feminine energy lies at the core of this otherwise formidable persona. She soothes an embittered mind, guides a dejected soul. Her prudence helps one overcome an ordeal.

I have seen that woman in my esteemed teachers. I have seen her in a friend. I have seen her in a friend's mother. I have seen her over commute. I have seen her debate in parliament. I have seen her running big businesses. I have seen her leading a nation.

She is omnipresent in part of the world in which we dwell and I am grateful to have been mentored by these formidable women and to have been able to comprehend their lofty notions sitting on the other side of the television merely by virtue of my social standing.

This saree-clad woman never fails to astound me. I believe that all of us can be that saree-clad woman and all of us are on the way to become one!
