The Rising

I was hit, hurt,

My body had bruises,

But my mind resolved,

I made a promise,

To build my strength,

My stamina and my self-belief,

I had a short stroll,

I watched people,

From all walks of life,

Eyed them,

I got my confidence,

I grew strong,

Soon my dreams were realized.
