The Organ Donor Lady
The Organ Donor Lady
A lady she was,
Same as me and you
Simple and modest
And humbly devout
Mother of three,
A young man and two girls
Joyous and content
Without satin and pearls
The day was bonny
There was a spring to her step
She went out to shop
And boarded a bus
Her buys were good
She planned a treat
It was for her kids
And tonight they would meet.
Jolly and cheerful
She tripped a level
The sari was caught
On a nail and a gravel
The bus was moving
She fell on the road
An auto hit her
She was tossed and blood flowed
She hit her head
Hard on the lane
And that was her end
But it wasn't at all in vain
Dont mourn, just wait,
The story doesn't end
Though death descended
Three lives were mending!
They tried to save
But her brain was dead
Her kids so wailed
No matter what was said
They wanted to keep
Alive their mum
Determined were they
To donate her organs.
There was this father
Of three young kids
Without a liver
He would be dead, God forbid!
Her liver in him
He now lives on
Sturdy and healthy
Ill health now gone
The other young man
With a wife so young
She prayed for a kidney
To hope she clung
The Fairy Godmother
Gifted her love
The kidney transplanted
Gods smiled above.
Her lungs got removed
To breathe in another
The NRI got life
Due to the same divine mother
She now lives on
In three of her children
Three others she saved
She is one in a million
I hope someday
I will be of worth
To save some lives
Before I hit the dirt
We all must give
All that we take
From mother earth
It's a choice to make.
Your organs won't go
To heaven with you
Donate your organs
Before bidding adieu!
