The Monster Under The Sea
The Monster Under The Sea
Once I had ventured out to sea, looking for refuge
From all of the sins I have committed and all the crimes I had done
It had scared me and left me raw, shallow, and empty
My only hope was either death or rebirth
The storm lashed out mercilessly on the open sea
Waves of green and blue whipped anything in reach
Screams on the large wooden boats slowly being ripped to pieces
Would forever haunt my memories and dreams
As I was thrown overboard and sank steadily
Losing all faith, all hope, and all breath
Then I saw the large unforgiving beast
With skin covered with crusty shells and rocks
Its eyes were spirals of maroon green and blue
With a gold center, staring into my soul
It opened its great mouth to reveal corals as teeth
Ready to snap its jaws and end my miserable life
Instead, it spoke in a deep rumbly voice
And asked me if I would like to start anew,
washed off of my past sins, just as he himself had
I agreed without hesitance, for I had committed many a crime
Now, if you may be so bold as to venture
Out into the open sea in the midst of a storm
You might still see two giant beasts on the ocean floor
Waiting to resurrect you and to build you anew.
