The Men Of My Life
The Men Of My Life
Brother, father, friend, son, lover, or well-wisher
Many forms they have: all expected to be a saviour.
Men are mountains, men are rigid
Men are cheaters, men have a beard
And is that what men are?
That he should be the driver of your car?
I know not who let those stereotypes prevail
Keeping men under that toxic veil.
They have pretty smiles and heartbreaking cries
But hide it all; isn’t that what our teaching implies?
Why let them alone be the kings of responsibility?
Enter the arena queens let share the burden with our abilities.
Let's do things together: from fights to dances
Equal give and take in household and finances
Let's break the ice of poisonous prejudice
Two halves of nature; hand in hand lets cross another mile
”wrong, evil, villain” are both men and women
”Right, good, angel’ are both women and men.
