The Masks We Wear
The Masks We Wear
In this world of constant change,
There are those who hide, behind a range.
Of masks and guises, they don each day,
As they play their part, in life's great play.
They smile and nod, and seem so kind,
But it's all just a front, to hide what's inside.
For underneath the facade, lies a darker truth,
A person who's fake, with no real virtue.
They say what we want to hear, with a false smile,
And they'll do what it takes, to maintain their guile.
They hide behind their mask, afraid to be seen,
For fear of what others, might really mean.
But there's a cost to wearing, this deceptive guise,
It's a life half-lived, where the truth is disguised.
When we hide, who we really are,
We lose sight of the light and the brightest star.
So let's peel off the masks, and be true to ourselves,
And let the world see, the beauty that dwells.
For there's power in being, who we really are,
And that's where true happiness, can be found, near or far.
