The Magic Within
The Magic Within
When loads of time trying to crumble me down
I remember those days when you were hardly able to stand
And I picked you up by your hands
Till you reach your fullest height to touch the sky.
When the age tries to blur my vision
I remember those days when despite a bright pair of eyes
You did not know what’s what – the thorns and flowers
And I patiently introduced you to each and everything I know
Till you become well known to all around you.
When life’s bitter stories frighten and try to bring some blues
I remember those days when you were just a color-blind babe
And I painted your dreams in gold, silver, and the brightest hues
Till they form a rainbow over your head.
When all these happen, though for a moment, I feel insecure
I remember those of my valiantly sweating days
To gather those forgotten gems inside my old chest of life
That makes me think proudly that
If I can create a living man out of a bundle of flesh and bones
I have enough of that magic still inside that I inherited from my Dad
And whose seeds I used to sow in you and
I’m sure; you will also do the same for your children to come
And worry not by reading these lines of me.
