The Eyes of Justice
The Eyes of Justice
With a blindfold on her eyes
She's said to see our dreams
Our dreams of gaining wings to fly
But that's just how it seems
In one hand is a set of scales
A scale that shows the balance
Of good and evil in the world
It's a white dove with talons
In the other hand of the cruel lady
She adorns a mighty sword
That bestows the grace of punishment
To those who break the law
But the snake beneath her feet escaped
And slithered up her arm
It poisoned her with revenge and hate
And said he meant no harm
He now sits on the tilting scale
And looks at me with contempt
As if I was the one who was in the wrong
Because he's on the higher end
I'm standing at the lower end
I'm closer to the ground
I scream for help, to pull me up
But no one makes a sound
