The Dark Future

Being imaginative since childhood

I had a rather beautiful dream

Last night in deep slumber

I visualised myself in space suit

On a different planet

Far beyond the boundaries of milky way

A planet in a poor state

People like our ancestors

Looks like I took a leap

Back to the stone age

They all surrounded me in a circle

Holding fire sticks and stones in their hands

As they were approaching me I started shouting

And this brought me out from my dream

As soon as I open my eyes

I realised that this is the only planet

To which I owe my existence

And the onus is on us to protect it

Else it would not be far away

When my dream would actually become our reality

As climate change and rise in global warming will surely take us back to the stone age.
