The Blossoms of my Dreamland
The Blossoms of my Dreamland
What a wonder of nature art thou,
That draws my attention to thyself?
The delicate ivory and pale roseate hue of thy petals,
Hanging down from the branches in posies
Blooming all along the streets,
Drooping and swaying gently in the breeze,
To speak of fresh beginning of the year,
To take me on a journey on a new path, so clear;
To announce the onset of the summers, here.
Winter has retreated to some faraway land-
A couple of weeks before, not more than that;
But the alluring cherry blossoms shall stay with me for long-
Making my heart dance with them,
Carrying that innocent blush of her petals on them,
Brushing away the unwanted memories of dull snow-clad winters,
Flaunting her divine charm to all her admirers,
And, transporting me to a place I imagine so often,
Tenderly taking my hand, and
Walking me to a place that I call ‘dreamland’.
