The Beggar With a Sack
The Beggar With a Sack
Sitting here all-day
Waiting for alms
I travel to my past
When I was walking on this same road
Along with many others
Flinging a coin or two
At the ones sitting on the pavement
Without a second's' glance
Now I am hoping
Somebody understands my plight
Sitting all the in the sun
Only to get a few coins
To have one square meal
And stay alive to
See another day of torment
Life is uncertain
Today's luck may not stay always
You may be a ruler of the kingdom once
But fall to penury on the morrow
So whenever you come across the poor
Give them a second glance
Bestow them with your kindness
And not your careless scorn
