The Beauty of Motherhood

She holds her stomach to look at the mirror in anticipation,

Thinks of the tiny life growing within her, it's another me,

Filled with so much happiness, so much expectation, 

She smiles in  joy she feels so free, 

The excitement of motherhood she can  feel, in her every breath,  

 As a woman, she feels complete in all

ways,

there is no other miracle greater than childbirth,

she talks to her child daily, the only thing

she does nowadays.

As the birth nears its term, the excitement grows,

She feels her baby's movement, his nudge, 

Her child's impatience to start his  journey, she knows,

the child seems to saying, why are you sitting, why don't you budge.

Then came the day of her child's birth,  

The painful minutes of conception, 

 first cry of life, to her, the most beautiful  sound on earth.

 Also the fulfilment of her life's   expectation.

 She watches the child fondly, new innings of 

  her life,

 A new beginning along with her child's    father,

 She leaves behind her world of a wife,

 Begins her new role as a new Mother.
