REST IN PEACE MY TRUE LOVE

REST IN PEACE MY TRUE LOVE

There is nothing new as he says,

He cannot love me better this time,

I was his safety net,

Like a pilgrimage,

He comes to me when he is in trouble,

But when his sun rises, he forgets me, yet again!

Girls like me breath in and out,

Of their lies,

Finding life somewhere in their attention,

Which they throw at us like alms,

Trained to be satisfied with whatever,

The MAN gives me.

If he works hard,

I am no Slouch,

But if he tried even half of what I do,

He would perish,

Oh, Mom see how much I worship you,

It has taken me years realizing,

That I deserve better,

Father, see I have found a man Like you,

Unlike Mom I am losing HIM,

So much Have I engraved his feet on my head,

It took a million ballads to stand up and fight,

For my own and my child,

The necklace of rhymes and pendants of metaphors,

A ton of allegories and dozen alliterations,

Still, I sometimes write a letter or two,

To remind me to stay strong,

Because he loves manipulating me to love him again,

While he glitters the photo frames of other women,

Who are better than me,

But are they?

Can’t be!

Because good people are true to themselves,

And being in love with you is the biggest Lie,

I want to take a photograph of you in bed,

Shred it into confetti,

Bomb it on your new wedding,

And spit in your priceless wine,

More to tell but I cannot handle,

Rest In peace my true love,

May peace dance on your grave,

While I dance at the funeral of our marriage.

Happy Married life, yet again.
