The Beach…

- A revelation made public!

 

Quite interesting: many a friend gets introduced in our journey of life, but, there are few, whom we get acquainted with, who, come here to stay forever. The beach is one such friend in everyone’s lives.

My first visit to the beach probably never carried my footsteps, for, I was a child in my mother’s arms. Back then it would have meant nothing to me, but, from a child to a young boy, it became to be known to me as a vacation hotspot. Summer vacations never got their meaning sans a visit to the beach.

From a young boy to aspiring youth, the beach became my relaxing place, a welcome, from the competitive cry of the modern world.

Time travels – but, not the beach. From childhood to my present, my perception of the beach has constantly changed, but, the beach remains the same. What then has changed since then?

My feet have traveled lesser and lesser into the waters from the road. As a child, I wanted to get deeper and deeper into the waters, farther and farther away from the madding crowd. As a youngster, I contented myself to staying by the waves. Today, I value the lazy stroll by the shore more.

The distance I travel from the road to the waters across the sand keeps decreasing, or, more alarmingly, … is it that the madding crowd keeps grabbing me into its competitive world away from the waters?
