THE ANT AND THE BUTTERFLY
THE ANT AND THE BUTTERFLY
The colorful bright butterfly frolics -
Flitting amidst flowers, pretty and in play;
While the industrious ant collects sand,
Hard at work in building an anthill today.
'Tis the butterfly, so pleasing to the eye,
Which enraptures one, extolled by all ... .
Scant attention receives the active ant,
Not much praise for its untiring ways... .
But that seems to be the rule of Nature ...
Emptiness of beauty acts as a foil
To counter the hidden beauty in toil.
In one, beauty is part of creation,
While in the other, beauty is created...
Tell me, which kind merits more value?
