That One Night
That One Night
That one night
The clouds hesitantly gave way.
The sky shuddered
Into thunder like grief,
Lightning like infliction of agony.
The stars shivered in an unknown sight.
Like a deluge,
Too many Eagles fluttered at a height.
That one night I dreamt of a tooth falling,
Wolves howling and
Black cats crawling,
The sight of dozens of black ravens could be caught.
What could this one night mean?
I bethought.
I woke up teary,
It was then that I had received the call.
That one night darkened more and more,
Rendering a permanent sore.
That one night,
One could hear jittery sounds as if from the graves.
Utmost chaos widespread,
"Beginning of the end" was on my head.
And that one night I was allowed to cry rivers,
I was allowed to drown head-front
Into the stream of sorrow,
And decide whether to swim back to the shore or no.
That one night took you away,
Far away in a different universe.
Probably in a happier place,
Away from mortal perception.
Devoid of love, we craved to see one last bit
Witness a few last words,
Perhaps, hear some remnant heartbeats.
It was all too late.
Because that one night had taken you away from this living world
