Romance

That day

That day

A love story told in verse,

Of two hearts that beat inversely,

A tale of passion,

hope,

and curse,

That brought them both to unity.

They met one day by chance,

Two strangers in a crowded street,

But from that moment,

their hearts did dance,

To a rhythm that was incomplete.

They talked,

they laughed,

they smiled,

And in each other's eyes,

they saw,

The missing piece of their own life's puzzle,

And knew that they were meant to fall.

Their love was like a burning flame,

That flickered in the darkest night,

But when they were together,

it was tame,

And gave them warmth and hope and light.

But fate,

it seems,

had other plans,

For their love was not meant to be,

And so they said their final goodbyes,

With tears and heartbreak and agony.

But even though they were apart,

Their love still burned within their hearts,

And though they were broken from the start,

Their love still played its special part.

Now years have passed,

and wrinkles line,

Their once smooth and youthful face,

But when they look back on their life's design,

They see their love was not a waste.

For though they could not be together,

Their love still lives on in their hearts,

And they know that they will love forever,

Even though they are worlds apart.

So let this poem be a reminder,

Of the power of love that never dies,

For even when hearts are torn asunder,

Love still finds a way to rise.
