I was in high school,

Amassing the world's sadness in me.

I was surrounded by so much gloom,

That antagonism got the better of me.

I learned the bitter truth,

That the world is not all cupcakes and rainbows.

And I let the red bow grow big in me

That I made her my foe.

She hurt me with words,

And I returned the favor.

I got so presumptuous about our bond,

That I just became a traitor.

And then came those sleepless nights,

And the assiduous blood started flowing in me.

Though sorry is just a five-letter word,

It takes immense courage to say it.

Every day I waited for dusk to dawn,

As my guilt started killing me.

Finally, I told those 5 letters,

And I felt happy, satisfied, and free!!
