Sorry State

Sorry State

When I was born I was crying bad,

The first person to hold me was my Dad.

He saw me and smiled but with tears,

Thus began his new journey filled with fear.

He was scared and new to things,

I was cranky and always ready to cling.

He brought me up with lot of love,

Took pride in me and watched me grow.

As I stood first in my school,

He brought me a bicycle cool.

When college started I got rude,

Yet he patiently understood.

When he tried to correct and guide,

I tried hard to escape and hide.

I found a job so far away,

Dad was worried about my stay.

I had not a thought about him,

Who had cared for my fancy and whim.

Slowly I struggled to settle down,

Dad's calls would make me frown.

Soon I began to feel pestered,

Finally some courage I mustered.

I flew down and packed his bag,

Left him at old age home to shack.

I know I'm being unfair,

It's not that I don't care.

It's not possible for me to handle,

Let alone help him with his sandals.

I have a busy schedule to deal,

With no time for myself to heal.

It may look like I'm bad,

But trust me even I'm sad.

I am doing the best I can,

For the sake of my old man.

To all those people who see me with hate,

Remember I'm already in a sorry state!
