Slipped Into The Night
Slipped Into The Night

And softly she slipped; gently
as the moist breath of the first kiss
into the night, soulful and deep
on wings of light drizzle
The trees in a cosmic subtle joy nodded
Bidding goodbye from the realm of earth
Holding her hands, nubile hands
She is once again a lass of sixteen
There she goes, gently towards the angels
Wrapped around in pearly light that she was
The smile on her face, a twinkle in her eyes
Love in heart, prayers on her lips for all
The imperturbable echo of the muezzin
Reverberating through the filtered glimmer
brought the angel’s as she came out
To take her bier on their shoulders
Looking through her curly eyelashes
Exuberant teenager again, she agreed
To the teary eyes, a promise of her loved ones
Till they breathe, she would live on, in them
