Silent Lesson

Silent Lesson

The final bell rings, joy fills the air,
But one girl sits silent, lost in despair.
Her eyes once bright, now dim with pain,
A quiet sorrow, like gentle rain.

Mr. Pulak sees, and softly he asks,
"Why the silence? What's behind the mask?"
She says no word, but her eyes reply,
A silent "yes," a quiet sigh.

"I spoke too harshly, I caused you grief,
Though teacher I am, I lost belief.
I never meant to hurt your heart,
But words like arrows tore apart."

She whispers low, "A word alone,
Could heal the hurt, ease the tone.
But scolded loud, before the crowd,
I stayed silent, beneath the cloud."

He feels the pain, his heart turns sore,
"Forgive me now, I'll hurt no more.
I didn't know the fights you face,
The silent wars you can't erase."

His hand on her cheek, a gentle touch,
"Love and kindness mean so much.
Today you taught me, clear and true—
The greatest lessons come from you."

The sun dips low, the day is done,
Two souls united, shining as one.
She smiles again, the pain now past,
Where love and learning always last.
