Shame

Shame

The fear of judgement,
To a great extremity,
Has sowed in our minds,
A sense of profound shame.

Behind the veils,
We are found shrunken;
Reluctant to show up,
As one's genuine self.

For us,
Being vulnerable,
And being observed,
Seems to be utterly fatal.

The freedom of speech,
Turns extraneous,
As being humiliated
Can be painful like cancer.

And the end result?
People end up suffering,
Deprived of liberty,
Dignity and tranquility.
