Seasonal Depression
Seasonal Depression
The shadows surround me,
I’m cold and it’s dreary.
Please come and find me
I’m lost in the darkness
I’m drowning
It’s numbing the emptiness inside me.
I fear you forgot me.
I reach for your hands,
but there’s nothing there.
Alone I am still.
My breath is like smoke.
There's ice in the air.
A chill in my throat.
I’m here come and find me
I’m calling to you
As loudly as I can,
My voice is shaking!
My breath is caught!
My hands are quaking
With every thought.
I’m hurting, it’s aching this hole in my chest;
it’s fragile and cracking, there isn’t much left.
Just when I fear I’m going to end myself;
There you are reaching you lean down and grab me.
I’m back in the light no more of this darkness.
Push down deep the haunting I’ve harnessed.
Awaken my soul and fill me with love.
The sun is shining and my heart is strong.
But with a new season, something goes wrong.
The empty creeps in. The happiness subsides and my anger settles where love once survived.
