Rainy Days

 It's fun to go out on rainy days

On a two-wheeler with niece 

Stopping at roadside suddenly 

When you see someone roasting sweet corn 

Eating hot sweet corn sprinkling lemon juice, salt on it 

It's just a sheer joy and delight! 

Rainy days in college times  

another memorable experience

When returning from college with friends,

searching for shade to stop for a while , 

while walking towards bus stand 

Stopping at bus stand waiting for bus , 

getting wet on roads sometimes

When no sign of stopping of rain 

And we change our minds 

Decide to go to a corner shop 

To eat hot - spicy ' Samosas ' 

Missing our regular bus 

Reaching late at home 

Giving all explanations at home 

getting instructions of safety

To save ourselves From catching cold , 

While returning from office 

No idea of what the scene outside 

And water logs on main roads 

People struggling to walk 

Pulling their two wheelers 

Difficult to find conveyance 

getting relief on reaching home 

Lastly about childhood nostalgic memories 

Those colourful raincoats to wear

To save uniform dress getting wet 

To bunk school when heavy rains 

Sitting at window watching rains

With a book in hand to read 

When it's raining at evening 

That's the only time cursing rains

For not allowing us to play outside 

Missing friends and play time 

Black clouds moving faster 

Taking rains to places 

Black clouds and darkness 

Lightning thunder giving fear

Watching streams of rains 

From our home terrace 

Greenery all over forest 

Plants too find freshness

With pure rain waters 

Rains truly pour happiness on us 

Showers and sprinkles drops of joys !!!!
