Prom Night
Prom Night
The day arrived which we've been waiting eagerly
It was a day of freezing a few moments where we looked silly
And what sparkled on their face was a beautiful smile
The time that we mostly call a Prom Night.
It was set on Saturday between the sunset and midnight
That day was too busy visiting each others house
In a formal attire that began
Taking photos with their family and friends.
While they walked along with their partners outdoor
I was home, dressing myself up for the next
And I had one thing whirling in my head
With whom i'll be dancing over there.
Mother asked me about my friends and why aren't we chilling up
I said that not everyone is that much fortunate
As I put up a smile on the face
To pull this conversation behind the backspace.
They had a bunch of pre-prom plans
Where I had was below none
I didn't even stepped out the door
Until the clock showed seven.
The sky was near to lose its blue, then
Our parents bid us a temporal farewell
I saw that everyone has someone's hand to hold
And I guess that i'm gonna walk alone.
I took a glass of grape wine
While heading towards the hall
It was said to be a wintry night
As the drink slips off my vocal cord.
The lights slowly dimmed off as we all gathered up
And a loving song gradually fades in
They were falling into each others arms
Like its their last minutes of living.
I was sitting silent in a corner
Watching them smile, dance and kiss
I imagined things that I never had any connection with
Its kinda weird but it's a fact that I was hallucinating.
Then I came across a girl just like me
Who was in search for a partner
As much as I can remember is that, she was wearing a gown of black color
And her perfume frag was like a heavenly angel.
Her eyes then stopped searching
Breaking the crowd, she came through
I stood up and checked on my tuxedo completely
At the same time we both asked each other, "Will you dance with me?"
I remember it was close to midnight till we danced
Then she made me follow her to an unknown place
Where she stood opposite to my face
And then eventually disappeared somewhere.
This thing has happened for more than once
I wondered if this was real or just my imagination
So I turned up the drink to be alright
And rolled over the streets on a Saturday night.
