A Man With Memories
A Man With Memories

Remember when I stood alone by the lake
Long until the sky wore up the haze
I called out, the angels wandering
They sat by the waters and would sing,
Oh, it's raining.
Sing like winter, sing like warm
Sing out for those who we saw grow old
Sing like tears were never real
Is it the sound of the cuckoo or the words that felt?
Now I can't recall where I heard those bells
I don't remember if I rang one of them
Have heard a few stories told by a woman
But I was just a sweet kid back then.
Oh, the time went sprinting ahead in the void
And I kept whirling for the source of the noise
The memories failed to come back home
With weight on my eyes, I sat by her t
omb.
Rain like winter, Rain like gold
Rain on like the tears at the back we hold
Rain like dreams would never end
Were you peak of the mountain or bottom of the land?
Oh, they'd never tell.
They'd hum along whenever I sang
Danced to the rhythm I spoke for them
Now I try to record my voice up on the tape
And look out if I still sounded like in those days.
I lost many of them while heading back
Yet all i'm left with is our photographs
I believe that our destiny would never change
Well, I hope that we fall at the same river end.
Rain like winter, Rain like gold
Rain over to the lost on the old high road
Rain on, go on and on.
