Power Of A Common Man

The plates crackle and shackle,

Uniting various species into a country,

Bomb blast introduces us to the atmosphere,

Our first sight is a shaky view of a quarry,

Mines to foundry, I travel through the vivid world.

Heated and melted, my dirt is removed and

I become a shining star;

On undergoing more stress,

I’m transformed to a glamorous billet-

The hard training has given me a recognition in the world.

Travelling miles, making friends, we reach an industry.

Forged, turned, thread rolled and hardened-

I’m tagged as a bolt.

My huge and powerful personality,

Became small and petite.

The world looks down on me and mocks,

“You are just a bolt."

Humans catch and throw while packing,

Giving no respect to me.

Warehouse to warehouse-

I travel with my fellow tiny bolts.

Light comes, I’m finding myself in a bin,

Meeting back species of my old billet world.

They have grown into engines,

Motors, heavy castings and huge sheets.

My feeling of being little and disfigurement aggravates,

Like a minister losing all his wealth and becoming powerless.

A hand picks, a fast rotating gun torques,

Making me cry on more pain,

It's announced I’m no longer single

And married to a nut.

A huge shiny sheet wishes me-

“Oh nut and bolt, you are small, but most powerful,

Be united as always, you build, comfort and keep us protected,

You form the foundation of the world."

It struck my chord and made me

Understand my role and self-importance,

Hence, I’m going to start a happy and

Contented life with my wife.
