I am not pre-defined,

No boxes can contain me,

No single word can describe me-

Can sum up the essence of who I am.

I am not who you want me to be,

I am not who you may conceive me to be,

I am so much more than what you make me to be,

Yes, I’m flawed,

Thoroughly…!

In fact I may not even be half as good as what is expected out of me,

But you see what’s funny? Do you see the beauty?

Inside me, inside you, inside everyone of us,

We’re not meant to be impeccable,

I am raw but undefined,

I am a phoenix,

Reborn from my ashes,

I can try over and over and over again,

Till I rise,

Till I soar,

And nothing can stop me,

From skimming the waters,

Of accomplishment.

You may have more potential,

But you see, courage is not showcasing your strengths,

It is to blatantly and unabashedly and unapologetically,

Display your weaknesses and furnish them into your strengths,

Under the watchful scrutiny of a throng.

Let them see you rise,

Let them see you be molded,

Don’t try to be impeccable from the beginning,

Because then you only construct a pitiable façade,

Don’t cozen others,

But most importantly,

Don’t deceive yourself…

By putting up a pretence of a “perfect” world;

Because, who really is going to be impressed?
