Big man and Small man,

Big man has big dreams,

Small man has small dreams,

Sits amidst the verdant countryside and grass,

Big man stomps upon them, up and tall,

Big man has big eyes,

Takes in the scene,

Eyes twinkling, so much treasure!

Big man gets an axe the next day,

Small man has one less tree to sit under,

Big man gets a spade the next day,

Small man has one less green patch to sit on,

Big man gets a team of workers the next day,

Small man watches them plant concrete bricks,

Big man sits caged in four walls,

Big man is proud,

Small man sits on the only green patch left,

Caressing it,

Big man gets bigger teams,

Big man gets machinery,

Big man follows his big dreams,

Small man stays rooted,

Sits on his scrawny green patch,

Small man has a small patch,

Small man has a small gaze,

Big man builds great structures,

Big man smiles,

Small man waters a small flower,

Small man smiles,

But Big man falls too,

Big man coughs,

Big man is ill,

Fumes and smoke and bricks,

Sick because of his big dreams,

Big man goes to small man,

Small man sits on his tiny patch,

Big man wants to sit there too,

Small man shakes his head,

Alas! The patch is only big enough for one,

If only big man had a brain big enough to know that,

Everything about big man was big,

Down to the fact,

That he had committed a big blunder…
