Penny
Penny
Nausea closing your throat,
Making your eyes sting.
You scream, scream and scream some more.
Scream till your ears hurt and your throat opens up.
Till you have screamed yourself out
And tired yourself down.
Like a dog with a bone,
You just won’t let it go,
Sit and think,
Logically,
Step by step,
Deducing.
Concluding,
Plotting and
Then, screaming.
Scream till your cheek muscles protest,
Till you forget what you were screaming about.
You forget what started you off,
But you remember you have to scream.
And so you do, on and on.
Like a banshee’s siren call.
Loud and clear,
Deep, rooted among fear.
