Pain

I carry pain like you carry your words,

Proudly yet at times with little apprehension,

Craving attention but afraid of being rebuffed,

We keep it all inside,

Where they are away from skepticism

Of overly judgemental world,

Alone and dejected we find solace in them,

Our sanctuary in this fiendish era,

Is my pain and your words.
