Outside My Home
Outside My Home
Outside my home
Was a little girl
Hopefully, she was standing
In front of my door.
Before she knocks
I opened the door for her,
Questioned what she desires for,
Didn't got an answer from her.
Her face seemed dull,
Hesitant to express what she wants
Heads were bowed down
And hands were on the stomach.
Gently giving comfort to her
Served, loaves of bread
And fruits to her.
Smiles were priceless and
Valued her tears,
My heart got overwhelmed
When I observed her.
Looking at her expression
I learned a lot from her
Truly, Thanksgiving for a good life
God has blessed me with
Good health and roof upon.
Yet complaining about an imperfect life
Grumbling for food I demand for
And Craving for fashionable clothes.
Lack of interest in studies I agree
But why store knowledge
When books are of no use.
See the life of some people
Roofs are not upon head
And lying on the road
Craving for food to be alive
Satisfied with having one bread
Finds happiness within endless suffering
Complains no more.
Realized the importance of life
This lesson I learned from her
Feeding to those who desire for
Bringing smiles to every face
Until my breathing stops.
