I Am What I Am

I Am What I Am

 I am a woman,

Not the kind you would like.

I am not like a spring breeze,

Or a fragile flower which anyone can pluck with ease.

I am a tempest; violent enough to submerge any fleet,

Like a sun with blazing heat.

I am unconventional, maybe this is what you call a misfit.

I like bikes, anime, and wrestling,

I'm a loudmouth, and I speak.

I am everything a woman is not expected to be,

I am not girly enough, I am more masculine.

But who made the rules, why do I have to conform to the way society wants me to act and be.

Why box me and clip my wings?

Don't try to silence me, let me sing.

Don't try to make me this naive, agreeable, selfless deity-like being.

This is the ideal woman.

Is this what you think?

Well, news to you, I am not any of it.

And I feel lucky to be a misfit because I don't have to conform to it.

But who do you think you are to judge me on my womanhood?

Why do you think you have the right to?

 I am a woman.

I can be whatever, whichever way I want.

Live the way I want, dress the way I feel.

Love him or her the way I should.

This is who I am, look at me and see me.

I am what I am.

 Just, Let me be.
