Only You Can Be

Blessed was the day when He chose me,

As a daughter to parents like thee.

I never knew how to demand or desire,

For you both gave me before I asked for.

Not that you were royal descendants,

But made me feel so with abundance.

It's your unmatched love and care,

Why you both topped my list,

Always it was, always it will be.

You loved me not by words,

But gestures spoke a lot.

I loved to sleep on your stomach,

As the pillows were not so soft.

You never pushed me aside,

And I enjoyed the warmth inside.

I slept on your arms, but you never moved though it was numb.

Who else, but only you can bear this

As no one can be like you, my Mom.

I slept peacefully on your chest,

As it was stronger than a wall to lean.

You allowed me to walk on your back,

A massage for you, an amusement for me..

No one but you allowed me to be me,

Dad, that's how you showed how much you loved me.

God was kind to send thee for me,

Yet he was cruel, to take you both away from me.

Still pining at your loss, still feeling the warmth of your love.

Give them back to me I pray thee,

Almighty, they both are only for me.

Not just this life, always I want your daughter to be.

And my parents only you can be.
