One Last Time

One Last Time

The twins were born on the night,

The nation fought for its pride.

Against all the enemies it repelled,

And all the attacks it defended,

The nation got independence.

A new nation was born.

And so were their destinies.

Birth of the nation created history,

But what happened to the twins.

Still remained an unsolved mystery.

Their destinies played it's chance,

Just and fair,

They got separated by the fence.

The fence that declared,

The beginning of two different ethics and cultures.

Little did they know about the existence,

Of each other.

It was the mother’s heart,

Which concealed the truth.

But she couldn’t hold it any longer.

And confessed to her son,

About his twin,

Who resided in the other nation.

She didn’t even know,

Whether he was dead or alive.

But she wanted to see him,

Before she died,

"Fulfill my deathwish",

The mother cried.

The son went to the other nation,

In search of his brother in relation,

To end the separation.

He searched for him day and night,

And initially couldn't find,

The trace of his brother's existence.

But he realised,

His efforts didn't go in vain,

When he found some eyes looking at him in pain.

Ahead stood his twin.

Tears rolled down his eyes,

Seeing him.

He told him about the mother's wish,

That had brought him there.

They flew back to their mother.

The mother saw the brothers together.

And smiled.

For the last time.
