Once in a Pandemic Time...
Once in a Pandemic Time...
2020 was a funny year,
A blip in our lives it did appear!
Three months down the line,
The world was lock downed by God’s design!
Work from home was joyfully accepted,
Till 24/7 work day sneaked in unsuspected;
From early morning to late in the night,
Glazed eyes and dazed looks became a common sight!
Fun and frolick came to an abrupt end,
No short breaks was very difficult to comprehend;
Elders in the family were tiresome and maddening;
Keeping them at home was absolutely challenging!
Essential buying acquired a very different meaning,
To get out of the house, this term was conveniently appealing;
Sitting safe at home, inside the bio bubble,
People wondered how could a virus cause so much trouble!
Seeing the pictures flashed on the TV screen,
We saw something like the crowns wore by many a queen;
But this was neither welcome nor wanted,
In fact, just to hear a sneeze nearby had everyone daunted!
The year limped by sanitised and masked,
Social distancing and hands washing had the world tasked;
Twenty Twenty like some players of ever popular games,
Had forever entered the century’s dubious hall of fame!
